Product description

This Student Voice booklet provides educators and their students with the voices of other Canadian students, who have explored and discussed the importance of promoting inclusivity and social justice by combatting negative stereotypes of Africa and people of African descent.

The booklet is intended for grades 4 to 12. It encourages discussions in classrooms while fostering co-learning and supporting educators to facilitate student inquiry and reflection on the omitted histories of countries in Africa, African identities, and the contributions by people of African descent, particularly in Canada. This resource’s themes and activities will broaden educators’ and students’ understanding of Africa’s rich diversity and the contributions of Africans to social and economic growth worldwide.
