Based on a study funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and conducted in collaboration with research partners at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the University of Ottawa, this report documents the results of a collegial, peer-support intervention model providing mental health promotion and mental illness prevention services and programming to support and further frontline worker recovery in schools.
Between December 2022 and March 2024, the project engaged three pilot school sites across Canada to determine individual and whole school mental health baselines pre- and post-intervention; assess school mental health culture; and adapt, deliver, and evaluate the impact of an in-school mental health intervention program facilitated by mental health experts.
